Baleària Joins the New Vocational Training Hub for Sustainable Maritime Mobility
Baleària participates in the new hub for Vocational Training for Sustainable Maritime Mobility, an initiative driven by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports to adapt training to the needs of the maritime sector and prepare future professionals.
This project also involves companies and entities such as Navantia, Astilleros Armón, the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Foundation of Las Palmas Ports, the Valenciaport Foundation, and the Alianza Net-Zero Mar Association.
The goal is to update the Vocational Training programs to respond to the changes occurring in maritime transport, especially regarding energy transition and new technologies, and to facilitate the incorporation of qualified personnel into the sector.
Among the profiles to be promoted are specialists in alternative fuel engines, technicians in electric battery systems, experts in renewable fuels, OPS system operators, and professionals in maritime digitalization and cybersecurity.
The president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, has stated that this initiative will help attract and retain talent in Spain and promote the creation of qualified jobs for young people in a sector undergoing significant transformation.
The establishment of this hub was formalized this week in Madrid during an event presided over by the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Milagros Tolón, where four other collaboration spaces between the administration and different economic sectors were also established.
