Baleària replaces the damaged catamaran “Volcán de Teno” on the Algeciras-Ceuta route with the standby “Jaume I”
The Operations Management of Baleària was right when it decided to position the catamaran “Volcán de Teno” on a route where, in case of any incident, it could be easily replaced. Yesterday, that situation arose when a breakdown of the aforementioned vessel, which covers the Algeciras-Ceuta route, was quickly addressed by deploying the catamaran “Jaume I”.
The breakdown of the “Volcán de Teno” required the use of a tugboat for its departure from Ceuta and for the same reason upon its arrival in Algeciras, where it is docked at Isla Verde.
In addition to the replacement by the “Jaume I”, Baleària maintains its full operational capacity with the catamaran “Villa de Agaete” and the ferry “Passió per Formentera”.
In any case, this time, the breakdown, located in one of the jets, was resolved quickly, as last night at 8:30 PM it was back in service on its route.
