Astilleros Armón Navia Launches the Hybrid Longliner "Oventura"
Astilleros Armón Navia has launched the hybrid longliner "Oventura", built for the Galician shipowner Veraguas Lar, based in Marín. The vessel is designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce fuel consumption during its operations.
The hybrid longliner "Oventura" measures 36.47 meters in length, 9 meters in beam, and has a gross tonnage of 482 GT. It is a surface vessel prepared to fish in various international fishing grounds, targeting species such as swordfish and blue shark.
Initially, the longliner was to be named "Ventura" and was planned to be built at the Armón Vigo facilities, but the group ultimately decided to move its construction to the Asturian factory.
The vessel stands out for its hybrid propulsion system, which combines different solutions to reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. It features batteries, solar panels, and a rigid wing sail that will contribute to its propulsion.
Additionally, part of its machinery will have electric drive, which will allow savings of around 2,000 liters of fuel per day, depending on navigation conditions and operational profile.
