Italian Training Ship "Amerigo Vespucci" Departs Cádiz Heading to Italy After Four Months at Sea
The training ship "Amerigo Vespucci" set sail last Sunday, September 6, from the port of Cádiz after completing its official stop in the city. The historic vessel of the Italian Navy had been docked at the Reina Victoria Dock since September 3 and was open for public visits.
Now, the training ship has set course for Italy after four months of sailing through the waters of the Atlantic and North America, as part of the "North America Campaign 2026".
It is scheduled to make another stop in Trapani (Sicily) in mid-September. After that, it will head to La Spezia, where it will arrive in October at its usual base in the Naval Arsenal. Once there, it will begin its regular maintenance period and crew rest.
The historic training ship of the Italian Navy, built in 1931, will thus conclude its long deployment that began in May and prepare for its upcoming training activities.
