The catamaran “Alcántara Dos” is not for sale and maintains the Alcudia-Ciudadela route
Trasmediterránea has no intention of eliminating the Alcudia-Ciudadela route nor is the catamaran “Alcántara Dos” for sale. The century-old company restored the aforementioned route in mid-July, with a focus on permanence, where the occupancy rate is as expected and there have even been days when customer response has exceeded expectations.
“Inter-island routes are becoming increasingly important for our customers, and we are working in that direction. Specifically, Alcudia-Ciudadela is one of the most requested, and we began operating last July in our commitment to provide service where our customers ask us,” says Miguel Pardo, commercial director of Trasmediterránea.
The company has a significant niche in the Balearic routes, where it is regaining market share. The change in direction led by Mario Quero is yielding favorable results. Currently, it operates seven ships, six of which are ferries and one is a high-speed vessel that covers the Alcudia-Ciudadela route. To reinforce the roll-on/roll-off cargo, the ship “Superfast Levante” has been deployed. Regular cargo and/or passenger routes are handled by the vessels “Tenacia,” “Zurbarán,” “Snav Adriático,” “Forza,” and “Juan J. Sister.”
