A discharge of 900 containers at TCTenerife
The container ship “Seaspan Río de Janeiro”, flagged in Hong Kong, operated today at the TCTenerife terminal, where it unloaded about 900 containers that it brought from the APM terminal in Algeciras. After completing operations, it advanced its departure forecast by several hours, as it was scheduled for the early morning, and tonight it set sail for the Tangier Med terminal.
This is good news for the mentioned terminal, which has made significant investments that position the Tenerife port among the interesting options for transshipment traffic in this area of the Atlantic, backed by the excellent performance of the stevedoring team, who know how to do their job well.
This is a medium-sized vessel of its class, built in South Korea in 2007. Weighing 50,500 deadweight tons, it measures 260 m in length, 32.30 m in beam, and 10.80 m in draft, powered by a Burmeister & Wain 8K90MCC engine, with a power of 37,037 kW, allowing it to maintain a speed of 22 knots. It can carry a maximum of 4,248 TEUs, including 400 refrigerated units. IMO Code 9301847.
